A Special Meeting today by the State Board of Education to discuss the future of Education Commissioner, Randy Watson, who made comments during a conference that have some state leaders, including Governor Laura Kelly, calling for his resignation. But, many people are supporting Watson, saying his comments are not derogatory, but something many people in the Midwest have expressed. Here is that comment:
Those in support say he wasn’t being racist, just expressing what many Kansans have found to be the concerns and beliefs of some on the East and West Coast, particularly thirty or forty years ago.
