The Ottawa and Wellsville Police Departments took the plunge together recently. they participated in the 2022 Kansas City Polar Plunge
The Annual event is held across the State during the winter months of February and March, with a Solar Splash held in the Summer. The event included a 5K run/walk, a costume contest, the opening ceremony and the much anticipated jump into ice cold water. All the money raised goes to Special Olympics Kansas, an organization made up of thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner, says over $700.00 was raised locally for the event. Anybody can donate to the fundraising campaign. For more information, visit “plungek-s.org”
