Recently Kelly announced the launch of “Building a Stronger Economy” Grant programs. Known as BASE Grants, they provide opportunity to help support infrastructure development and advance economic development opportunities across Kansas. It’s $100 million in Federal Aid available to communities, counties and private business. County Administrator, Derek Brown, says Franklin County has not submitted any applications. Each municipality can submit three different grants for different projects. The City of Ottawa has submitted three, as has the City of Wellsville. A second round of Grant money is expected soon.
