Some much needed road and bridge work may be done this year, thanks to money received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Franklin County Public Works Director, David Lee, says the approaches to several bridges are downright dangerous:
Lee says the bridge locations need a full depth mill and overlay to smooth the transition to the bridge deck. In all, Lee has identified 65 locations on the paved road system that need significant repairs. The County Commission agreed to solicit bids for the projects, which will be paid in part by Federal money that reimbursed the County for disasters over the last few years.
