If you have ever traveled Old 50 Highway, you know it’s a narrow stretch of road, it is one of the busiest in Franklin County and becoming busier every year as more and more housing goes in that direction. There has been a plan in the works for quite some time to widen the road and Franklin County Public Works Director, David Lee, says that could come to fruition soon:
The highway was originally under the State Highway System, but it was abandoned and given to the County in November of 2000 when a State Resolution was passed removing U. S. 50 from the State Highway System.
