A serious accident Friday night near Pomona Dam left a woman with serious injuries. Just after 7:00 Friday evening, the Osage County Sheriff’s Department, Osage County EMS and Osage County Fire, responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident just north of K-268 on Pomona Dam Road.
A pick-up truck, driven by 61 year old Duane Shively, left the roadway, for unknown reasons, and struck a guardrail. The guardrail entered the cab of the pickup through the floorboard and struck the passenger, 60 year old Cynthia Shively. Cynthia was transported by Life Star Helicopter, to the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas, with serious injuries.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. No word on Cynthia’s condition or the cause of the crash.
