A single vehicle accident yesterday afternoon in the 200 block of Ottawa’s Main Street, has damaged one business. A van started on the west side of main, and crossed all four lanes of traffic before jumping curb and crashing through the front of Cornerstone Book Store. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner, described the accident scene:
Weingartner says after an inspection, it was determined that although the front of the business was damaged, the building as a whole, is structurally sound, narrowly missing the support wall between it and the business next door. Owner, Bruce Beatty, says he expects city officials to inspect the building thoroughly today to confirm it is structurally solid. In the meantime, the business will be closed for clean up and repair
