Did you know that Anderson County and Garnett are “work ready communities”? What’s that? Work Ready Communities is a framework for community-based workforce development designed to drive economic growth. Regions improve their workforce and use quality criteria to compete for location consultants, investors and other decision-makers using data powered by the “Work Keys” National Career Readiness Certificate.
The Anderson County Work Ready Community Task Force was organized in 2019. Anderson County has been chosen to receive a monthly stop from the Mobile Work Force Center. The 38-foot Mobile Center includes internet ready computers to assist job candidates and employers, a Smart Board for presentations, provided work keys testing, career counseling and resume building assistance. There is no charge for any of their services. If you need a job, are thinking about changing careers, or an employer that needs workers, the next scheduled stop for the Mobile Work Center is April 20th, from 10:00 to 2:00.
