The Garnett Police Department is attempting to locate a suspect wanted in a shooting and aggravated assault. On Saturday, officers from the Garnett Police Department were called to a shooting that occurred in the 700 block of West 8th Avenue. During the course of an investigation, a suspect was identified. The Garnett Police are attempting to locate William Vandenberg. He goes by Chris, who is wanted for questioning regarding his involvement in the shooting. Vandenberg is believed to have shot several vehicles as well as a residence that was occupied by two adults and two children, during a rolling gun battle.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting or the whereabouts of Vandenberg is encouraged to contact the Garnett Police or call 911. He says do not approach Vandenberg, he is considered armed and dangerous.
