The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. Two of those projects are in our area; however, they are back to back on the same highway. First, in Osage County, about a mile of milling and overlay from the K-68/ K-268 junction to the Osage/Franklin County line. That project will continue into Franklin County for just over 12 miles to the West City Limits of Ottawa.

There was no timeline given for the project to start. Bettis Asphalt was awarded both projects for just over $4.3 million.
