The final Legislative Coffee of the session in Ottawa will take place tomorrow morning. Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce President, John Coen, says the Coffee was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but they had to postpone it because of the late hours lawmakers were required to keep all last week to get to first adjournment.
This will be your chance to ask questions and hear answers from Legislators from our area. Senator Caryn Tyson and Representatives Blaine Finch and Mark Samsel, will be on hand for the event. With the Legislative Session going into recess just this past week, there should be plenty to talk about, as both Houses continue to work on some type of relief for Kansas tax payers on groceries and other taxes. Sports betting, medical marijuana, the expansion of Medicaid and many other topics, are still on the table and undecided in the Kansas Legislature. Plan now to attend, in person or watch on the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce website “ottawakansas.org”. Things get started tomorrow morning at 10:00 at City Hall.
