The Kansas Department of Transportation has selected seven people across Kansas as recipients of Transportation Safety Recognition Awards for their efforts to improve traffic safety. Recipients are honored in two categories, the People Saving People Award and the Hero Award. The People Saving People Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions to the improvement of transportation safety in Kansas.
One of those honored was Deputy Chip More of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. More has been in law enforcement for 15 years and is the Resource Officer at Pleasanton High School. He assists with the School’s SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) Team and is an excellent communicator. More shares life lessons to help students learn from real world experiences. He takes the time to get to know the people he is working with and has improved safety at the school.
