You know that old tree that you had to cut down last fall? How about that pile of branches you cleaned up a few weeks ago, or the bushes you cut last weekend? What do you do with them? Well, you’re in luck! The City of Garnett is holding a free, brush only, pickup service starting on Monday. They’re only taking tree limbs and lawn and garden debris. No trash or any household items are allowed. The City will dispose of the brush at the city-owned burn site, specifically for tree limbs, yard and garden debris.
You need to make sure the brush is piled near the alley or curbside near where your weekly trash is picked up. City crews will begin Monday on the north side of the city and work their way south. IMPORTANT NOTE: once they have passed by, they won’t come back, so get out and get your brush moved to the street before Monday.
