One of Franklin County’s Cold Case Homicide cases is being featured on a new deck of playing cards. Forty five year old, Doris Branson, was killed in her home on March 20th, 1992 from multiple stab wounds. There was nothing missing from the home except her purse. It was discovered three weeks later in a ditch outside of Baldwin, with all of its contents in place. Her killer was never found. Now, over 31 years later, her case is being featured in a new deck of playing cards being distributed to prisoners in the states jails and prisons, hoping someone will see it and remember something and report it.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards says one of those cards will feature details of the Branson case:

The Branson case will be on the two of hearts. Other area cases featured on the cards include the Osage County Case involving Anna Baldwin, who was murdered in 2017 and the December 1996 murder of 15 year old Tawnya Knight from Spring Hill, being investigated by the Johnson County Sheriff’s office.

If you have any information on these cases, or any other cold case, please contact the nearest law enforcement agency.
