The 2022 Literature Festival was held at Ottawa University yesterday, in-person for the first time in two years. by all accounts, it went very well. Over 900 third, fourth and fifth grade students from all of the Franklin County Schools, were on hand for the 20th annual event, to hear from a variety of artists in the literature world.
Seven presenters were highlighted, from authors, illustrators and songwriters and all shared their passion. Hosted by the Ottawa Library and Ottawa University, this year received a Grant from the American Eagle Outfitters foundation, for $6,500. The Grant allowed for the purchase of an autographed book for every child attending the festival.
One of the many highlights for the students was former USD 290 music teacher, Allan Cunningham, who was on hand to share his love for music and share songs with the students.
