A Vassar man is in jail after leading Miami County Sheriff’s Deputies on a short chase Thursday. That morning, just before 7:30, a Deputy with the Osage County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on K-68 near the K-268 junction for a traffic violation. The vehicle failed to yield and a brief pursuit was initiated. The vehicle came to stop at K-68 Highway and Arkansas Road in Franklin County.
The driver of the vehicle, 40 year old Jason Fox of Vassar, was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail Facility on suspicion of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while habitual violator, driving while license is suspended and several traffic infractions.
