It’s not known if it’s a first… but a person who had already been installed on a City board, has now been taken off. The action happened in the case of Emily Hamm, who last week, the Ottawa City Commission place on the Access Advisory Board, to advise on issues affecting the disabled. During the City Commission’s Study Session, Mayor Eric Crowley asked Hamm to come back for a second interview. Crowley wanted to know what she meant by a social post she made after the meeting last week, and he read from the post:
Hamm claims she’s a target because she has filed several complaints against the Ottawa School District over her child, who is apparently disabled… and, because she has made social posts about the case, she says other people are trying to destroy her chances of serving on a City Board.
In other related action, the Commission agreed to put Chad Caylor and Cal Lantis on the Airport Advisory Board.
