The City of Garnett has several projects that they continue to work on. City Manager, Travis Wilson, reports that after 18 months of waiting, the National Park Service approved the Park Conversion Plan, which allowed the city to move forward to the Land Acquisition Phase of the project. The bidding for that project has been pushed back to late Spring. He also reports that the Garnett Airport Runway Reconstruction and Expansion Project has moved into its next phase with the Environmental Study underway.
