The Ottawa City Commission will formally ratify an Automatic Aid Agreement with Franklin County Emergency Medical Services to provide extrication services for people trapped in vehicles. Ottawa Fire Chief, Tim Mathias, says they have about seven of those a year, the last being on Monday afternoon in an accident on Main Street. He says the department is well equipped for such incidents:

Under the Agreement, the Ottawa Fire Department would respond on any accident needing extrication, with the County Units given the ability to call them off if they are not needed.
