The Ottawa City Commission approved an Automatic Aid Agreement with Franklin County, in which the Ottawa Fire Department can be called out to provide extrication services for victims trapped in a vehicle. Ottawa Fire Chief, Tim Matthias, says these kinds of incidents are not that common:
Matthias says as soon as the victims are freed from the vehicle, his department will return to the city so the Fire Department will be on normal duty in the city.
