An Ottawa man sustained serious injuries in a single vehicle accident Sunday night in Miami County. Miami County Deputies and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the crash site about three miles west of Louisburg just before 9:00 Sunday night. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a sport utility vehicle, driven by 24 year old Jason Berve of Ottawa, was eastbound on K-68 when it struck construction barrels and a Jersey Barrier. The vehicle then went back into the lane of traffic, where it overturned and came to rest on its top in the westbound shoulder of the highway. The KHP reports he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Berve was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. There was no update on his condition.
