The Ottawa Police Department is requesting a sizeable budget increase for the 2023 Fiscal Year in documents discussed at the Ottawa City Commission Study Session. Police Chief Adam Weingartner ways a major part of the increase is to pay for Police Department Building repairs.
Overall the Police Department is asking for about $441,000 increase, which is a 14% increase from the 2022 budget. Other major ticket items include personnel costs and lease payments for patrol cars.
