May is Mental Health Awareness Month. One of the most stressful occupations in Kansas is farming and ranching. Those associated with that noble profession have seen a huge increase in mental health care needs, especially the past couple of years. A new website is available for farmers, ranchers and rural families. “KANSASAGSTRESS.ORG” is the site. Frontier Extension District Agent, Rebecca McFarland, tells us more:
McFarland will be our guest on this week’s Community Perspective. She will be talking about the mental health needs of farm families and the resources available to them to get the services they need. Tune in Sunday morning at 8:04 to hear more. If you, or someone you know, is in need of mental health care, don’t wait. Call your doctor or the Elizabeth Layton Center today.
