When the Ottawa Police Department was approved for a Grant to hire a Crisis Co-Responder to assist in calls involving mental health issues, Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner knew he had to get the Elizabeth Layton Center involved to hire the right person. He is confident they have that person in Meagan Thomas:
She, along with Officer Adam Seyler, will be part of a Community Policing Unit to assist in such calls. Weingartner will be our guest on this week’s Community Perspective. He will talk about the unit and many other things related to mental health awareness in the law enforcement profession. Tune in this morning at 8:04 to hear the entire conversation.
