An accident on 59 Highway in Princeton Saturday afternoon sent two people to the hospital. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies, Franklin County EMS and the Ottawa Fire Department responded to the scene at 59 Highway and John Brown Road just before 1:00 Saturday afternoon. A vehicle driven by 53 year old Thomas Egbert of Garnett, was traveling northbound on 59 Highway, when a vehicle, driven by 41 year old Julie White of Lane, entered the roadway and collided with Egbert. Both Thomas and Julie were taken to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries they received in the accident. No word on their condition.
Both vehicles received extensive damage and the Ottawa Fire Department responded to the scene as part of a Mutual Aid Agreement with the County where they respond to accident scenes where extrication may be needed.
