Twenty new law enforcement officers graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson Friday. Graduates receive Certificates of Course Completion from the training center and Kansas Law Enforcement Certification from the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training, the state’s law enforcement licensing authority.

Two of those officers will be working for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Cole Allen and Brian Jung graduated from the class. Deputy Allen has been with the Sheriff’s office for a couple years and transferred to patrol from jail division. Deputy Jung is new to the Sheriff’s Department, but is a long time community member. He is assigned to court security.

About 300 officers enroll annually in the 14-week basic training programs. The Kansas Training Center offers continuing education and specialized training to over 10,000 Kansas officers each year. Congratulations to Deputies Allen and Jung.
