Memorial Day Weekend is coming up with Independence Day not too far behind and outdoor grilling will be going on everywhere. Kansas State University Food Scientist, Karen Blakeslee, says rule number one of grilling is a simple one… wash your hands after handling your meat:

She emphasizes keeping the meat cold until grilling and then using a meat thermometer to make sure the meat is cooked to al least 165 degrees before eating.
