You know, sometimes things get to me more than others. This story irks me!
If you have driven by the Ottawa Post Office today, you may have noticed they don’t have their flags flying. Here’s why! According to the Ottawa Police Department, sometime Sunday night, May 29, 2022, or Memorial Day, May 30, 2022, some fine individual decided it would be ok to steal the POW flag from the pole. They cut the rope, tossed the American Flag on the ground and stole the brand new POW flag. Now, it was a very windy day, it’s possible the wind may have damaged the ropes; but, either way, the flag is gone! If you happen to know someone who acquired a brand new POW Flag, call or send a message to the Ottawa Police Department so they can talk to the individual. We know there are plenty of people that would like to ‘talk’ to them, also; but, we’ll let the Police handle the case.
*as of Tuesday evening, May 31, 2022, a new POW flag had been obtained and it, along with Old Glory, were proudly flying outside the Post Office at 4th and Hickory.
