Building a reliable work force isn’t only a problem around here, it’s Nation wide and hits the AG community also. Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsac, told an audience at Georgetown University yesterday, June 1, 2022, that one of the biggest problems farmers and food processors have is a shortage of workers. He says it’s not enough to provide loans and grants to support local farmers to build ad improve local food processing facilities:
Vilsac says another badly needed step in that direction is comprehensive reform of the Nation’s immigration laws.
