Child care, or the lack of it is a major issue in Anderson County and many surrounding counties. More facilities are needed to meet the demands of the area work force. Anyone thinking about becoming a childcare provider in Anderson County, is invited to a meeting this evening at Crest High School in Colony. The Anderson County Development Agency, with the help of the Garnett Public Library, has purchased three Child Care Provider Resource Kits, for potential new providers, with Grant Funds from Child Care Aware of Southeast Kansas. Two of these kits are available to check out at the Garnett Public Library and one will be available at the Colony Public Library. The meeting tonight is for anyone interested in starting a childcare business.
Representatives from Child Care Aware, current child care providers and the Anderson County Child Care Task Force, will be on hand to answer any questions. So, if you are thinking about opening a child care facility of your own, please attend the meeting this evening at 5:30 at Crest High School in Colony.
