The Franklin County Commission has taken an action that most expected. A decision to close the Juvenile Detention Center in Ottawa. County Administrator, Derek Brown, says closing the detention part of the building doesn’t mean drastic changes right away:
The Commission voted unanimously to close the center. For some time, the Detention Center has only housed one or two juveniles at a time, making it a financial loss in terms of operations.
