Everyone knows that the COVID pandemic was devastating for students in school; but, now is the time to move on. The Ottawa School Board spent a Work Session reviewing test scores and what they found was a somewhat uneven pace that students are learning at an uneven pace. Board President, Harold Wingert, says COVID cannot be used as an excuse:
School officials say its time to examine what some teachers are doing to get their students to a higher achievement level and use that information to help teachers who are struggling to get their students to an acceptable level.
