The Franklin County Historical society is on the move. They are moving their archives to the Franklin County Visitors Center. After months of preparation, the Historical Society is ready to relocate thousands of archival materials to the new location. Moving dates will run from June 21st through June 27th; but, they need help. The Historical society is asking for volunteers to help with disassembling and reassembling shelving and moving boxes from the current location to the new location.
Historical Society Director, Diana Staresinic-Deane says staff members and volunteers have already dedicated hundreds of hours packing and wrapping archival materials and preparing the new location, to house the archives. Community members have donated hundreds of moving boxes. The archives will remain closed through the moving process and Dietrich Cabin will be open the first Saturday of July and August.
