Three Garnett City Residents have filed in the November election for a seat on the Garnett City Commission, in the absence of 15 year incumbent, Greg Gwin. Mark Locke, Troy Armstrong and Justin Thompson made the June first filing deadline for the office. Locke is an insurance agent and Financial Advisor for the Knights of Columbus. His family moved here nearly three years ago. He says he’s always been involved in public and civic service and wanted to continue making positive things happen in the community.
Armstrong is Director of Emergency Medical Services at Anderson County Hospital ad moved to Garnett last year. He says he would like to see Garnett continue the improvements they are making.
Thompson has lived in Garnett for about 15 years. He owns J & E Auto Detailing and has volunteered as a City Firefighter for the past two years. He sees a lack of growth and development in Garnett and wants to help change that.
The election will be held Tuesday, November 8th.
