The Kansas City Symphony was set to perform in a field in rural Chase County, Saturday evening, June 11, 2022, for the Annual Symphony in the Flint Hills, when the severe storms rolled into the area. With only one road leading into and out of the area, thousands of people were trapped in their vehicles as high winds, heavy rain and hail swept across the area. It was kind of scary for a lot of people.
The ironic part of the entire event, is the theme of the concert was … “Weather in the Flint Hills”. Good timing on Mother Nature’s part to help out with the theme of the concert.
