It looks like the way has finally been cleared for a developer to convert the Econo-Lodge in south Ottawa, into an apartment complex. the Ottawa City Commission approved what is called a Text Amendment that exempts the project from the normal three acre minimum. Ottawa Community Development Director, Michael Hall, briefly explained the reason behind the rezoning:
