Have you ever opened your car door on a hot day and were amazed by how hot it is inside the car? Think about being in the car, strapped into a car seat and not being able to get out. With the heat building this week, the likelihood of a child ding after accidently being left in a car, rises dramatically. Don’t think it could happen to you? Kid In Cars founder, Amber Rollins, says thing again:
Rollins says to put something in the front seat, reminding you your child is in the back; a stuffed animal or their favorite toy and put the object in the cars seat when you take the child out. Over 1,000 kids have died in hot cars since 1990, including one in Lawrence just last year and another in Olathe last week. We have another very hot day today. Look before you lock. Don’t let a tragedy happen to you.
