The closing of the Juvenile Detention Center in Ottawa has certainly made on local law enforcement officer unhappy. During the Ottawa City Commission Study Session. Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner, noted that having to take juvenile suspects up to a Douglas or Johnson County Detention Center is going to be a heavy burden:

Franklin County Officials say the number of juvenile inmates on any given day had dwindled to one or two, and it wasn’t feasible to keep it open.
