While the inmates at the Franklin County Jail don’t want to be there, the cost keeping them there is going up. During a review of his budget with the County Commission, Sheriff Jeff Richards said several factors account for the increase expense in jail lodging:
Richards says the cost of food is also going up, but it is important to have good food for inmates because that is one thing that helps keep things peaceful.
