If you like planes, you’re going to like this event. If you like watching planes do amazing things in the sky, you’re really going to like an event coming to Ottawa today, June 23, 2022. The International Aerobatic Club, Chapter 15, in Ottawa, will be hosting a Practice Day for Aerobatic Pilots to practice their maneuvers for International Aerobatics Day, that will be celebrated Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, with a contest where aerobatic pilots compete and are judged on their flying skill in a prescribed set of aerial maneuvers.
Today’s practice will be held at the Ottawa Municipal Airport and the public is encouraged to come watch. Chapter members will be there to talk aviation and the sport of aviation aerobatics. During the practice day, club members will be flying in an aerobatic practice box. Some pilots will practice their maneuvers to get ready to compete later this year, some will be flying for fun, recreationally and still others may earn an Aerobatic Achievement Award, which recognizes their aerobatic proficiency.
