The Kansas Department of Transportation announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. One of those projects is in Franklin County and two in Miami County. The Franklin County Project is on I-35 and will run from the U. S. 59 Junction north to the Miami County line. Bettis Asphalt will do an overlay on that section of roadway.
The first project in Miami County will be a continuation of the Franklin County Line, two and a half miles north to the Johnson County Line. The second Miami County project involves the grading and resurfacing of Metcalf Road, from 287th Street to South Second Street in Louisburg. Miles Excavating, out of Basehor, will do that work.
