Lawmakers across Kansas have issued statements on the United States Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe verses Wade after nearly 50 years after it gave women the constitutional right to an abortion. Kansas Senator, Jerry Moran, says the decision will not allow legislatures, or judges, to decide and pass laws to protect children in the womb and support their mothers. Kansas Congressman Jake LaTurner, says the decision is a monumental win for pro-life Americans. But, the ruling won’t protect life in Kansas and its even more important than ever that Kansans , to protect the unborn, pass the “Value Them Both” amendment to guarantee Kansas does not become a hub for unlimited abortions.

Governor Laura Kelly posted that she made her stance clear and a women’s reproductive healthcare should be between her and her doctor; will continue to oppose all regressive legislation that interferes with individual freedoms or threatens the progress Kansas has made in recent years that makes Kansas a constructive place to do business. Kansas Representative, Sharice Davids, questioned how voters will choose to support women and access to healthcare in the August Election. She says the protections are now gone and Kansas is at a major decision point.
