The Ottawa Police Department is still on scene of a homicide that occurred yesterday afternoon, Sunday, June 26, 2022. Shortly after 3:00 yesterday afternoon, the Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s office were dispatched to a call of a stabbing in the 700 Block of West 11th. The incident was at residence at 11th and Ash on the northwest corner. When they arrived, they found 29 year old Dalton Presley of Ottawa, dead from an apparent stab would. Another resident, who lives in the house, was at the scene and was detained and transported to the Ottawa Police Department for further investigation.
Later that evening, 29 year old Anthony Alvarado from Ottawa, was arrested on charges of second degree murder and is being held in the Franklin County Detention Center, pending formal charges by the Franklin County Attorney’s office.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. The ten hundred block of Ash will remain closed to through traffic during the investigation.
