The Franklin County Development Council was recently accepted into a new state program called E-Community. the “E” stands for ‘entrepreneurship’ and has programs designed to help new business get on their feet. FCDC Director, Paul Bean, says one aspect of the program is to provide ‘gap funding’ when it comes to owners seeking loans for their business:
He adds there is a youth aspect also, with programs designed for students from 7th to 12th grades, to help them develop a new businesses, come up with a business plan and present it to the program officials and possibly receive grant money to actually get the business started.
