Several new businesses are opening in the City of Garnett. The old Cheese Factory building on the corner will be demolished sometime this month.
Another new business is Troyer’s 1883, in the building on the corner of 4th Avenue and Oak Street. The building has been transformed by the new owner, Jessica Troyer. It will feature American and Italian food, as well as street tacos and smoked meats. There will be a café/coffee shop/bakery on the first floor, with “Grab-and-Go” breakfast items and a lunch menu. The second floor will also be open for lunch and dinner. The restaurant opening day is still not confirmed, but sometime this month.
Parkwood Day School, Garnett, is slated to open sometime this Fall in the First United Methodist Church on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Oak Street.
Wettstien says they continue to recruit new in-home childcare providers. Three new in-home providers will be potentially opening this Fall in Garnett.
