Voters have yet to approve Paola USD 368’s $40 million Bond Proposal this fall, but the District has already chosen a company to oversee the construction projects. They selected Newkirk Construction Partners. Paola Superintendent, Matt Mererk, says Newkirk also employs a former J. E. Dunn employee who worked on the school’s last bond project.

The $40 million bond proposal includes planned improvements and maintenance work at all of the district’s school buildings. A large chunk of that money will go to improvements at Paola Middle School. They will receive renovations and modernizations of learning spaces, plus mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades. Paola High School will build a career and Technical Education addition. There will be roofing replacements district wide, with asphalt replacement and turf replacement and playground upgrades at both Sunflower ad Cottonwood Elementary Schools.
