One candidate for the Kansas 3rd Congressional District has gained the endorsement of the top law enforcement office in Franklin County. Amanda Adkins has been endorsed by Franklin County Sheriff, Jeff Richards and Undersheriff Kiel Lasswell. Adkins says she knows the two because of the time she spent in Franklin County and she appreciates the role they serve in protecting the communities in Franklin County.

One concern she has is the crisis at our southern border, that opens a pipeline for drugs, like fentanyl, that eventually make their way up I-35 to ruin the lives of Kansans and others effected by overdoses. She says law enforcement, like Richards and Lasswell, have to deal with the consequences of the current administration’s policies.

Richards visited the southern border recently with a group of other law enforcement officers and saw first hand how the system works. He says he is endorsing Adkins because he knows she will go to Washington and be a leader and find solutions to the illegal drug trafficking and humanitarian crisis that continues to find its way to Franklin County.

Adkins is running against John McCaughren in the Republican Primary on August 2nd.
