Starting in August, the Central Heights School District will have a School Resource Officer, courtesy of the Franklin County Commission. The Commission gave its approval for a one year contract that will set up a partnership between the school district and the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Jeff Richards says the SRO position will require doing some hiring:

County Officials estimate salary and benefits for the SRO, which will be paid by the school district, will amount to around $72,000. Providing a car and related items for the position will come to around $61,000, which will be covered by the Sheriff’s Office
