After hours of searching, authorities have found the body of a man who drowned at Clinton Lake on Saturday, July 16. A Game Warden for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks responded to a call about 3:15 Saturday afternoon to help find a man who was swimming on the southeast side of Clinton Lake. The man had been on the lake with friends on a sailboat. First responders from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, Consolidated Fire District Number 1 of Douglas County, Lawrence Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol all assisted in the search. His body was found around 10:00 Saturday night.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, George Diepenbrock says no further information is available at this time, pending notification of his family.
