As expected, the Ottawa City Commission gave final approval on the Cedar Street Storm Water and Widening Project. Killough Construction will do the work, but Casey Colburn of Bartlett and West Engineering says there are a few things that need to happen before they start:
The street will also be widened three to four feet to accommodate increased traffic flow that is expected in the area.
The Commission passed the project, with Mayor Eric Crowley voting no. He says he fully supports the project, but he is not in favor of spending more money on widening the street.
